France and Italy - September, 2005
Missy left for the south of France on Sept. 1st to meet our good friend Isabelle at the Nice airport. The two girls were joined by Nadine, a friend of Isa. They stayed at a little apartment, owned by a friend of Isa.
The trip was very relaxing filled with trips to the market, cooking and having girl time.
I flew to Rome for a week of work on Sept 10th. Missy met me at the airport and we headed to our hotel. I spent most of the first week talking to current and potential customers in Rome, Milan and London. Our great friend Dotty came to play for a few days.
We were able to get some great dinners, see some sights and hang out in a wonderful city!
Our other great friend from Philadelphia, Shamus and Elizabeth came to Italy to join us for some R&R. They headed to Switzerland for a few days, but we met up for dinner.
Our gang of four met up again on Sept 18th, rented a car and headed to Umbria. We rented a villa on a hillside overlooking Orvietto, a mid-evil city from around 800 BC.
We visited the town of Orvietto and loved it! My favorite part was the tour of the caves below the city...
We had lunch at the Trattoria La Grotta in Orvietto and it was exquisite!
This little varmit has a nice view in the town of Assisi!
We finally headed back to Rome and had a last dinner in Italy...
The second time in Rome, we stayed a great hotel:
The next day, Melissa and I went to St. Peter's Basilica for service.
We checked out part of the city by Bike.
Had lunch at our favorite place in Rome: Restaurant 34!
Had a little desert (around 4),
and watched the sun set.
